Set up the send
Choose REAPER in Key settings and complete the current integration setup. Selected-clip analysis is also listed as optional Beta; it is an input workflow distinct from sending the project tempo.
Sending is an optional Beta feature in the current product. Select the destination in Key settings, enable the integration, and follow the current in-app setup. Read the confirmation after sending and check the actual project values before continuing.
Read the reference
Read system audio, use the microphone, or drop an audio or MIDI file on the menu bar. Live analysis follows the passage playing; a file gives the analyzer a different span of material.
The outline marks a locked reading; green and amber communicate confidence separately. A locked reading can still be uncertain. Listen, check the musical context, and use the half-time or double-time control when the pulse needs it.
Before changing the project
Save the project and check the DAW’s tempo-following behavior for audio and MIDI. Changing project tempo can change playback or placement depending on the DAW settings. A detected number is a starting point to check against the music, not a promise that the arrangement should be changed.
What the reading represents
A key label summarizes tonal context; it does not transcribe every chord or set every instrument. Tempo can be heard at half or double time. Compare the reference with a click and a pitched instrument, then send the values you intend to use.
